This drill is designed to practise both the butterfly slide and the hybrid slide.

The goaltender starts facing X1. X1 passes the puck to X2 which immediately passes it to X3 for a one-timer. The goaltender must butterfly slide to X2 and then hybrid slide to X3 and make the save.

The drill should be run in the reverse direction (X1-X3-X2) in order to practise both sides.

Variations:

  • To give the goaltender more practise, X2 and X3 can pass the puck to eachother multiple times before taking a shot.
